PAUL E. HEMBD, 77, of 520 Congress St. died Friday, March 24, 2000 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1922 to Alfred and Bertha (Lehnard) Hembd in Chicago, IL, where he was raised. \r\nPaul served in the European Theatre with U.S. Army Intelligence during World War II. \r\nHe was a tool and die engineer working with his brother at their company Accurate Metals in Skokie, Illinois.\r\nSurvivors include, four sons, Paul (Carolyn of Danville, CA, David (Dana) of Lake Zurich, IL, Douglas (Christina) of Illinois and Alan (Bobi) of Eau Claire; three daughters, Pamela Hembd of Irvine, CA, Patricia Hembd of Illinois, Christi (Charles) Benz of Charleston, MO; 13 grandchildren; sister Betsey Hamilton of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Claudia Hembd of Arlington Heights, IL,; nieces, nephews and his goldfish, Fred.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alfred.\r\nThe family extends a special thanks to Kathy Glasmyer for her help during Paul's last years.\r\nMemorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with Pastor Natalie Leske officiating. Friends may call an hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home assisted the family.
