Paul G. Palmer Jr., 60, of Eau Claire died Friday, October 14, 2005, at his home. He was born on December 25, 1944, in Melrose Park, Illinois, the son of Paul Gene and Mary C. (Peterson) Palmer.He entered the U.S. Army in September 1968. He served in Germany and was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.Paul graduated from Eau Claire North High School in 1963. He went on to graduate with a BSEE degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1970 where he was on the Dean's List. He also graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Business Administration Certificate in 1980. Paul worked for Control Data and Possis Medical using his electrical engineering skills to develop operating control systems.He was confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Paul was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending weekends hunting and fishing with family and friends.Survivors include his brother, David (Becky) Palmer of Green Bay, WI; his nephew, Joshua Palmer; and many cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Joel A. Hoelter of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
