Paul J. Sheehan, 50 of Eau Claire passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Hospital due to complications suffered by a Brain Aneurysm. He was born December 19, 1961 in Eau Claire Wisconsin to James and Elaine (Mai) Sheehan and was Baptized and Confirmed at Sacred Heart Church. Paul graduated from North High School in 1980 and then joined the U.S. Navy and served onboard the USS Cape Cod (AD 43) as a Boatswain's mate. After returning to Eau Claire, Paul worked many jobs, but his labor of love was being a Carpenter for several years for Sandvig Construction. From the time he was a small child, Paul loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, and gardener; he also enjoyed raising his chickens. Furthermore, he was a wonderful dog trainer and will be truly missed by his two dogs Buddy and Jack. Paul was very involved in the community and was an active member of the AA Eau Claire Pacific Group, where he enjoyed speaking and sponsoring his fellow members. In addition, he took Great Pride in his Church and was an Adult Mass Server and a participating member of the Knights of Columbus John F. Kennedy Council #1257 and Bishop Fulton J. Sheen General Assembly - 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Swoboda; mother, Elaine Sheehan; and ten siblings, Gloria of Eau Claire, Mark (Lori) of Eau Claire, Ernest (Deb) of Hastings Minnesota, Kristine (Robert) Staats of Eau Claire, Michael of Altoona, Daniel (Tanya) of Eau Claire, Timothy (Chris) of Eau Claire, Andrew (Sherri) of Altoona, Joseph (Amy) Eagle River, Alaska, Matthew (Melody) of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Sheehan; Grandparents, Leo and Molly (Langert) Sheehan of Mondovi and Ernie and Marcella (Sherpy) Mai of Eau Claire. He was a Wonderful and kind hearted person and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be from 4 to7 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., with a Public Prayer Vigil at 7 p.m. All Knights of Columbus members, family, and friends are welcome to attend. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 am on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey St. with Rev. George Thayilkuzhihottu Msfs. officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to Mass at church. A private interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A Donation Benefit account is being setup at Royal Credit Union on Paul's behalf.
