Paul K. Wegrzyn 75, of Eau Claire and formerly Chicago, died March 2, 2026, while living at The Neighbors of Dunn County, where he was a resident for the last 6 ½ years.
He was born on October 4, 1950 in Chicago, the son and second of three children born to Casey P. Wegrzyn and Frances J. (Szczesniak). Paul worked for 28 years until retirement, for Zenith Corporation in Melrose Park, Illinois. In 2002, Paul, his sister Diane and their mother moved to Eau Claire, WI to be closer to his niece Sharon. Following their mother’s passing in 2004, Paul and Diane spent many hours playing video games they both enjoyed. Paul had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Paul never married but was very close with his family and loved dogs as much as they loved him. Ginger, Buffy, Snuffy and Lexy were some of his closest four-legged friends.
He was baptized in the Catholic Church and remained a lifelong faithful servant of God. In the months before his passing, he enjoyed studying the Bible with friends at The Neighbors of Dunn County.
He is survived by his sister Diane (James) Boglitsch; his niece Sharon Besterfeldt (Tim Wavrunek); his great-nephew Cade Bessinger; and his nephew Richard Arens of Phoenix, Arizona; and many cousins who loved him dearly.
Paul is preceded in death by his father Casey in 1987; his sister Patricia in 1998; and his mother Frances in 2004.
Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL and private family services to be held at a later date. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Paul's family sends a special thanks to the staff of The Neighbors of Dunn County who have been so caring and attentive and gave him a loving community to live in, these last several years.
