PHYLLIS J. BLUEDORN, 89, of 1714 Hogeboom Ave., Eau Claire, died Sunday, August 29, 1999, at Dove Health Care Center. She was born on February 25, 1910, in Eau Claire to Gunhard and Marie (Johnson) Johnson.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1927. Phyllis attended Eau Claire Teacher's College where she received her teaching degree in 1956. She taught at Fall Creek Valley School and at Sheldon Valley School near Mondovi. Phyllis taught 38 years in Eau Claire, 19 at Black Elementary and 19 at Robbins Elementary until retiring in 1975.\r\nPhyllis married Erwin Bluedorn on July 7, 1937, at Pilgrim Congregational Manse Church in Minneapolis.\r\nShe was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Esther circle; and a member of the Eau Claire Teacher's Union. After her retirement she enjoyed her gatherings with her Wednesday Brunch Club.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Ann (Ken) McDonald of Barron; a son, Bruce (Sharon) of Chippewa Falls; fourteen grandchildren: Sandi and Mike McDonald, Becky (Larry) Cook, Scott (Heather) and Karl (Kelly) Bluedorn, Kim (Steve) Wood, Lisa and Lori Kent, Michelle (Jeremy) Ammerman, Crystal, Paul, Jason, Jasmine and Darian Bluedorn; and nine great grandchildren.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Erwin in 1966; a grandson, Brian Bluedorn; a brother, Carl Johnson; and a sister, Gladys Kilde.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Ned S. Lenhart officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church Playground Fund or to the donor's choice.
