Phyllis Lorraine Burrows, age 88, of Eau Claire, WI, died, Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Healthcare Systems in Eau Claire. Phyllis was born August 9, 1927, at her home, to Arthur and Alma (Arndt) Lange in Cleveland Township, Fairchild, WI. She grew up there and was a graduate from Fairchild High School. She married Allman E. Burrows on April 12, 1947, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fairchild, WI. They resided in Eau Claire their entire married life. Phyllis was a stay at home mom and raised a very loving, considerate and happy family. She always had the prettiest flowers in the neighborhood. Growing vegetables and canning the harvest was a fun event. Phyllis enjoyed doing word searches, knitting and playing cards. She also liked her occasional Casino trips. In the past, she volunteered at Luther Hospital, mainly in the gift shop and was very involved in Epiphany Lutheran Church organizations. Phyllis is survived by four children, Larry (Nancy), Diane (John) Merritt, Debbi (Mike) Walter, all of Eau Claire and Tom (Amy) of Janesville; one daughter-in-law, Kris (Brian) Fenner of Wisconsin Rapids; eleven grandchildren, Cassie (John) Chrystal, Nick (Danny Buse) Burrows, Todd (Jamie Bushman) Burrows, Zac (Aleisha Harper) Merritt, Luke Merritt, Joe Merritt, Jessie (Adam) Partlow, Melanie (D.J.) Vickmark, Morgan Winter, Bryan and Ethan Burrows; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Camron Partlow; sister-in-law, Lillian Sonnenburg; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allman (2011); son, Terry (1996); grandson, Craig Burrows (2002); sister, Loris (Donald Sr.) Schlegelmilch and infant sister, Loretta Lange. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 601 Fall St, Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015, at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the luncheon, at Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington, Eau Claire, WI.
