PHYLLIS FERN EASTERSON, 86, W1747 Easterson Road, Town of Pleasant Valley, died Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at her home. She was born September 6, 1914 to Ray and Mattie (Gilgan) Chambers in Durand, Wisconsin. Phyllis married G. Donald Easterson on May 1, 1941 in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a teacher for 39 years, the first 17 years in rural schools and then 22 years at Sherman Elementary in Eau Claire until retiring in 1976. Phyllis earned her teaching certificate from E.C. Teachers Academy and a Bachelor of Science Degree from UW-EC. \r\nShe was a member of Drammen Lutheran Church in the town of Drammen, and the Wisconsin Retired Educators Association.\r\nSurvivors include her three daughters, Fay (DeWayne) Stillman of Arcadia, Joan (Dale) Welke and Diane Easterson, both of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Daniel (Penny) Welke of Eleva, Debra (Scott) Heath and Denise (Brian) Becker of Eau Claire, and Mark (Kristen) Stillman of Menomonie; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Trumph of Fairchild; two nieces, Betty (Larry) Kohn of Fairchild, and Jean (Burt) Langworthy of Canton, Kansas; and six great-nieces and great-nephews. \r\nPhyllis was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Donald in 1998\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Drammen Lutheran Church with Pastor William Wendt officiating. Burial will be in Drammen Lutheran Church Cemetery in the town of Drammen. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Drammen Lutheran Church.
