Phyllis T. Geigle, 72, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Grace Woodlands in Eau Claire. She was born in the town of Drammen, Eau Claire County on October 1, 1940, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Pichler) Risler. Phyllis married Leo Geigle in Mondovi on December 26, 1960. Phyllis had worked at Gould Battery and later at Uniroyal. After her retirement, she looked after and cared for elderly people and friends. She was an avid gardener and loved fishing. She was fun-loving and free-spirited. Phyllis was a 40 year member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Phyllis touched many lives and was a true blessing and gift to all she met. She appreciated her children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends for making her life so wonderful and beautiful. Phyllis will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Phyliss is survived by her four children, Chris Geigle of Eau Claire, Constance Geigle-Mietla of Wauwatosa, Curtis (Julie) Geigle of Eau Claire, and Clifford Geigle (Vicki Millard) of Platteville; six grandchildren; brother, George (Donna) Risler of Eau Claire; five sisters, Norma (Tom Rutlin) Grill of Adams, WI, Darlene (Bill) Spehle of Eau Claire, Charlotte Johnson of Baldwin, WI, Kathleen (Kenny Novak) Risler of Eau Claire, and Sharon (Duane) Schuh of Rock Springs, WY; and a special friend, Fred Backstrom of Town of Seymour, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, on April 14, 1993; parents; sister, Shirley Ann Risler; brother, Romaine Risler; sister-in-law, Janet Risler; and brothers-in-law, Darryl Grill and Harland Johnson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave in Eau Claire, with Father Eugene A. Klink celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Prayer Vigil Service at 7 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue in Eau Claire and one hour prior to Mass at the church.
