Phyllis N. Thompson, 92, of Eau Claire, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at Our House in Eau Claire. She was born May 4, 1925 in Menomonie, WI, a daughter of Cletus and Eileen (Brown) Neis. On April 5, 1947, Phyllis married Arvid M. Thompson in Stillwater, MN. She was employed in accounts receivable at N.S.P. and was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire. Phyllis is survived by two brothers, Donald (Priscilla) Neis and John Neis of Independence, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid in 1995; her parents; brothers, Virgil Neis, Duane Neis and Thomas Neis; and sisters, Maxine Neverdahl and Lois Lawko. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 Broadway St. in Eau Claire with Rev. Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
