Rachael I. Kuhlman, 85, of Colfax died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Area Nursing Home in Colfax. She was born on February 7, 1918 in Chilton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Harriman) Mortimer. Rachael married Arthur Kuhlman on November 14, 1942 at her family home in Chilton. They lived in Chilton, Shawano and many years in Schofield where they were charter members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Rothschild. Following Arthur's death in 1985, Rachael moved to Eau Claire in 1989.\r\nSurvivors include her daughter, Mary (David) Gilbertson of Elk Mound, three grandsons, Brian (Margaret), Eric (Shawn) and their children, Petrice Long, Amber and William Gilbertson, Kevin (Kay) and their children, Brandon and Bailey Gilbertson all of Elk Mound; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Virginia Mansen and six brothers, Merle, Vance, William, Carlton, John, and Allan Mortimer.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound with Pastor Dean C. Brockmeier officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at Chilton, WI. Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.
