RALPH W. HAUN, 84, 1608 Hopkins Ave., went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 8, 1999, at home. He was born on September 10, 1914 in Unicoi County near Erwin, Tennessee to Peter and Effie (MacInturf) Haun. He served in the United States Army from April 7, 1941 through June 6, 1944 and received the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theater Medals. Ralph married Mary E. Melhus in Alexandria,VA, in September 1944. They resided in Oak Ridge, TN, where Ralph worked as an electrician at the atomic bomb plant. They moved to Eau Claire in 1945 where Ralph worked 27 years at Gillett-Uniroyal until his retirement in 1968.\r\nHe was a member of VFW Post #305 and a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, which he helped, build.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Cynthia (Tim) Mahoney of Dahlen, ND, and Judith (Tom) Wolter of Eau Claire; three grandsons, Brian and Nathan Mueller, of Chanhassen, MN, and Shannon Mahoney of Dahlen, ND; two granddaughters, Heather and Heidi Wolter both of Eau Claire; a sister, Willie Mae Honeycutt of Erwin,TN; three half brothers, Paul, Brownlow, and Jack Haun all of Ashville, NC; two half sisters Mae Honeycutt of Elizabethton,TN, and Berligh Burbo of Ashville,NC; and a step-brother, Fate Robinson of TN. \r\nHe was preceded death by his parents, stepmother Ida; a sister, Stella Jo and two brothers, Harry and Gus.\r\nFuneral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Pastor John van Gorkom officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
