Obituary

Randy L. Strand, 61, beloved husband, father, son, and grandpa, passed away peacefully on February 4th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30th, 1962, in Eau Claire, WI, to Howard and Judy (Lee) Strand. Randy was a devoted family man, known for his unwavering love and commitment to his wife, Andrea, his children and his grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with his family, finding immense joy in being a husband, father and grandpa. An avid outdoorsman, Randy had a passion for hunting deer and muzzle loading. He found solace and fulfillment in the serene beauty of nature, often retreating to his favorite spots up north for relaxation and adventure. In his younger years, Randy shared his musical talents as a member of a band, playing guitar, creating cherished memories and lifelong friendships with his fellow musicians.

Professionally, Randy excelled as a construction journeyman for Local 18, showcasing his dedication and skill in his trade. He took great pride in his work, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and integrity. A true craftsman at heart, Randy found joy in tinkering in his garage, where he would spend hours creating and building various projects. His creativity knew no bounds and his craftsmanship was admired by all who knew him. Randy's legacy of love, laughter and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he leaves behind a legacy of love and light that will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched. He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Strand; son, Johnathan Strand; daughter, Tasha Strand; two cherished grandchildren, Liam and Owen Wirkuty; mother, Judy Mueller; sisters, Laurie Strand and Sherri (Randy) Reynen; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cheryl and Barry Bertsch. Randy is preceded in death by his father, Howard Strand; brother, Scott Strand and stepfather, Pete Mueller. A memorial service will take place at 1pm Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home - WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor David Huber of Plymouth United Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held from 11am up util the time of the memorial service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the 3rd & 4th floor doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire.
