Obituary

Ray F. Simon, 79, of 710 Doty Street, died Friday, July 6, 2001 at Luther Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1922, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Raymond and Esther (Flesberg) Simon. \r\nHe grew up in Elk Mound where he graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1939 and then attended Vocational School in Eau Claire. \r\nRay married Jeanette Loretta Olson in Eau Claire on September 16, 1943. He served in the U.S. Army Air-Corp. until his honorable discharge in 1946. He was a member of American Legion Post #53.\r\nHe was owner-operator of Ray's Mileage service station, retiring after 20 years.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Jeanette; his loving nieces and nephews and their children.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and his very special aunt and uncle, Emma and George Rhude.\r\nGraveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. American Legion Post #53 will conduct military graveside rites. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving the family.
