Raymond A. Johnson, 96, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Luther Hospital with his family at his side.\r\nHe was born in Rib Lake, Wisconsin on March 14, 1914, the son of Albert and Sadie (Hennesey) Johnson.\r\nRay married Hazel M. Smith on March 14, 1936, at Lake Street Methodist Parsonage in Eau Claire.\r\nRay was a dairy farmer for almost 20 years, and later worked for Wissota Sand and Gravel until his retirement.\r\nRay enjoyed woodworking, camping and traveling.\r\nHe was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Elk Mound.\r\nRaymond is survived by his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Susan (Johnson) Corfits; two grandchildren, Sarah and Chad (Stacey); five great-grandchildren, Mariah, Paige, Meadow, Kamrynn, and Caeden; a sister, Gladys Myers; and nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Alice Eckwright. \r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elk Mound with Pastor Margaret DeMaris officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Elk Mound. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 22, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
