Obituary

Reva M. (Thorson) Sippel, 79 of Lake Hallie, passed peacefully away at home on Monday, October 10, 2005.\r\nReva was born in Mondovi to Fern (Cleasby) and Clarence Thorson on September 17, 1926. She grew up in Eau Claire and attended Eau Claire area schools. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.\r\nReva married Lawrence "Bud" Sippel on August 18, 1945 at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Bud passed away on February 28, 1994.\r\nReva was employed at the Northern Center in Chippewa Falls for over 20 years until her retirement in 1991. She loved to play bridge and attend monthly card club with her friends. After retiring, she could be found at the Hallie golf course on Ladies Day, golfing in the summer and playing bridge during the winter months.\r\nSurvivors include her sons Daniel (Diane) Sippel of Eau Claire and Jeffrey (Susan) Sippel of St Louis, MO. Reva has five grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly: Scott (Vicki) Sippel of North Hudson, WI, Kristine (Bradley) Gustafson of Green Bay, Jennifer (Anthony) Hagedorn of Altoona, Marissa and Julia Sippel of St Louis, MO, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia McCluskey and Karen Isaacson, both of Eau Claire, a brother Richard (Judy) Thorson of Amery, sister-in-law Beatrice Hill of Eau Claire and brother-in-law Harold "Diz" Kronenberg of Eau Claire, sister-in-law Donna Thorson of Las Vegas, NV and numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nReva was proceeded in death by her husband, "Bud", her parents, stepfather, Edward Knesley, sister Betty Boyd, brothers Berval and Roger, sister-in-law and life long friend Marj Kronenberg, brother-in-laws James McCluskey, Howard "Chuck" Isaacson, Walter Hill, and Robert Boyd.\r\nFuneral services for Reva will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2005 at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Prairie View Cemetery in Hallie.
