RICHARD W. "POLLOCK" BELLESBACH, 68, of West 3490 Mitchell Road, town of Brunswick, died Friday, July 3, 1998 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. He was born in Eau Claire on November 22, 1929 to Bill and Helen Bellesbach. At the age of 16, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Maritime Service, a branch of the Marines where he served until his honorable discharge in 1947.\r\nHe married Dorothy E. Mathews on July 2, 1949 in Altoona. Richard was an over the road truck driver with Witte Transportation Co. for 25 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Chippewa Valley Antique Club, a 35 year member of Teamsters Local #662 and a past member of Moose Lodge #1408 and the Westgate Sportsman's Club. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Dorothy; his mother, Helen of East Troy; three sons, James (Jayne) of Mexico Beach, FL, Michael (Cathy) of Trempealeau and Mark (Linda) of Allen; four daughters, TerryLee Dodge and Susan (Thomas) Brantner both of Eau Claire, Lisa (Chester) Goodman of Fall Creek and Lori (Tony) Bellesbach of Bloomer; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Shirley) of South Milwaukee; two sisters, Mary Anne (Dan) Pett of Bella Vista, ARK, and Shirley Green Bellesbach of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his father. \r\nHe will be deeply missed by his family and friends\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery in the town of Brunswick where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. public prayer service Tuesday at the funeral home.\r\n
