Richard "Dick" Charles Campbell, age 84, of Eau Claire, WI, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Orchard Hills Assisted Living Facility in Eau Claire. Dick was born in Eau Claire on September 29, 1931 to Charles and Lillie (Olson) Campbell. He graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School with the class of 1949. He was a member of the National Guard, becoming a Sergeant of the Infantry. He also worked for the Sand and Gravel Company, Presto, and also the Post Office. For most of his life, Dick was a famer, working with his father on the family farm and then owning and operating his own farm. He raised beef cattle and then became a crop farmer, primarily corn and soy beans. Dick enjoyed farming and spending time outside. He also enjoyed traveling. He made several trips to Alaska, his favorite destination. Dick also enjoyed investing and following the stock market. Dick is survived by his sister, Patricia Hanson of Eau Claire. He was close to his nephew David Hanson of Eau Claire, his wife, Mary and their children, Jamie and Josh. Dick regularly attended all high school sporting events, cheering on Jamie and Josh in tennis, football and basketball. Dick is also survived by nephews, Stephen (Cheryl) Hanson of Waukesha; and Paul (Liane) Hanson of Greenfield; great nephew, Scott Hanson; great nieces, Kristen Greig, Lisa Bruecker and Jenny Hanson.
