Richard E. "Dick" Olson, 65, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, August 8, 1996 at his home as a result of cancer. He was born November 5, 1930 in Eau Claire to John and Gunda (Engum) Olson. In 1948 he graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from U.W.E.C. in 1953. Dick married Judy R. Kent at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Cliare on July 5, 1958.\r\nDick served in the U.S. Airforce during the Korean War from April 1953 until his honorable discharge in February 1957. He retired as personnel manager with Uniroyal in 1991 after thirty one years of service. Dick and Judy are owners of Lee's Uniform Center in Eau Claire. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire Lodge #112 F&AM and American Legion Post # 53. \r\nSurvivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Judy; a son, Tom (Kelly) of Rochester, MN; a daughter, Laurie (Jay) Lauer of Port Washington; four grandchildren, Ryan, Kristin, Devan and Jordan; two sisters, Glendora Rada and Mary Lou Stehle both of Eau Claire; a sister-in-law, Reta Olson of Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Jack Rada of Eau Claire.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Lillian Anglum and a brother, Gerald Olson. \r\nDick was devoted to his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be sadly missed.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Gordon D. Thorpe officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church or Northwest Homecare Hospice.
