Richard A. Emmons, 66, of Eau Claire died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire. He was born in Sheldon, Wisconsin on November 21, 1940, the son of James and Elizabeth (Fosbinder) Emmons.\r\nHe graduated from Tony High School in Tony, Wisconsin with the class of 1958.\r\nRichard married Kathryn E. Schultz on July 1, 1972, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nHe had owned several retail businesses during his lifetime.\r\nRichard had many diverse interests. He loved to draw, and amused many children with his characters. He was creative in so many ways. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dad, brothers, and friends.\r\nRichard loved his sons and grandchildren dearly, and gave them much of his wise counsel whether they wanted it or not. Those who knew him will miss his delightful sense of humor, his patience, and his helpfulness.\r\nRichard is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons, Nathan (Dawn) of Eau Claire and Charles of Burbank, CA; four grandchildren, Gabriel, Natalie, Levi and Victoria; two brothers, James (Bonnie) of Holcombe and Robert (Patricia) of Wales, WI; three sisters, Karen (Tom) Moore of Pewaukee, MaryAnn (Mike) Brigham and Judy Guist both of Cloverdale, CA; sister-in-law, Barbara Babbit of Columbus, IN; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joseph Emmons; and two nephews, Ted VanDoorn and Mark Guist.\r\nMemorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark W. Schulz officiating. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral&Cremation Services is serving his family.
