"Dick" Figlmiller, 80, of Eau Claire, died on\r\nTuesday, March 15, 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was born in Eau Claire\r\nto Victor and Marcella (Osterman) Figlmiller. \r\nHe graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1948.\r\n\r\nOn November 10, 1951 he married Janet O'Mara, his high\r\nschool sweetheart, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Together they raised 7 children in the city\r\nof Eau Claire.\r\n\r\nHe worked for Northern States Power Company until he retired\r\nin 1988, as a supervisor in Hydro Maintenance. \r\n\r\nHe was an excellent athlete starting with basketball,\r\nbaseball and football in high school. \r\nHis love of participating in sports lead him to coaching his children's\r\nsports teams as well as various teams through St. Olaf's Catholic School. \r\n\r\nHis spare time was filled with woodworking and carpentry,\r\nstarting at age 14 when he built an addition on to his parent's home. He was\r\nalways willing to help family and friends with any improvement project.\r\n\r\nHe loved golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, dancing and\r\ntraveling with his wife, Jan. Together they wintered in Texas for 18\r\nyears. Dick was a Eucharistic Minister\r\nand very active with St. Olaf's Church and Men's Club, as well as the Elk's\r\nClub and Knights of Columbus.\r\n\r\nDick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jan; children,\r\nSteve (Laz), Cathy (Jay) Messerer, Peggy (Jim) Ehrhard, Paul (Bob), Dia Hritz,\r\nPete (Kyle) and Tim (Jen) ; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother,\r\nJoe (Marilyn) and many other relatives and friends.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Victor\r\nJr. (Dorothy), Tom and John.\r\n\r\nVisitation will be Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at\r\nLenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire with a Prayer\r\nService at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 23 at 11 a.m. at\r\nSt. Olaf's Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St. Eau Claire with Fr. Brian Konopa\r\nofficiating. Visitation will also be one\r\nhour prior to services at church. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's\r\nCatholic Cemetery.\r\n\r\nMemorials are preferred to St. Olaf's Catholic Church Men's\r\nClub.
