Obituary

Richard "Rich" A. Partlow, 55, of 3722 Gables Ct., Eau Claire, formerly of Menomonie and Prentice, died Friday, September 10, 1999 at his home. He was born November 15, 1943 to Lincoln and Viola (Hamilton) Partlow in Eau Claire. Rich married Judith Ann Hanshus on October 26, 1968 at First Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. He worked at H&L Men's Shop in Eau Claire, then 22 years in banking in Menomonie and four in Prentice where he retired as President of Community State Bank of Prentice in 1998 when Rich and Judy retired to Eau Claire. \r\nHe was a member of the Optimist Club in Eau Claire, having served as secretary and treasurer, Charter President of the Menomonie Optimist Club, and member of the United Cerebral Palsy Board. He served on the church council at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. Other memberships included the Menomonie Chamber of Commerce, Menomonie Kiwanis, and Prentice Lions.\r\nSurvivors include his loving and caring wife, Judy; son, Scot R. Partlow (Dean Kralios) of Seattle, WA; daughter, Melissa Partlow Mathews (Michael K. Richard) of Eau Claire; three brothers, Gerald (Carol) of Oakdale, MN, Donald (Sue) and Tom (Barb) both of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Louise Partlow of Altoona; mother-in-law, Gail Hanshus of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Jon (Peggy) Hanshus of North Quincy, MA; Aunt Harriet Hamilton of Eau Claire; two uncles, Vilas (Jessie) Hamilton of Eau Claire, and Norman Hamilton, Minneapolis, MN; twelve nieces and nephews, other relatives and many special friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leol, a nephew Jon Hanshus Jr., his father-in-law, Jerome Hanshus, and several aunts and uncles.\r\nMemorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the Church. \r\nIn lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to the donor's choice.
