Richard E. Plomedahl, 71, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at his home in Eau Claire. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on June 20, 1937, the son of Edwin and Mildred (Boehlke) Plomedahl.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1960.\r\nDick married Barbara J. Hill on April 4, 1959, in Eau Claire. \r\nHe worked as a Firefighter for the Eau Claire Fire Department from 1962 until his retirement in 1991. He loved his job as a Firefighter, helping people and serving the public. \r\nHe was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Eau Claire.\r\nDick and Barbara enjoyed many summers together at their cabin on Nelson Lake near Hayward. \r\nHe enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and many wood working projects. Dick was a big Packer fan and his family knew not to call during the games.\r\nDick is survived by his wife, Barbara; a son, Rick (Terry) Plomedahl of Shiloh, IL; daughter, Penny (Brad) Conner of Eau Claire; his grandson, Scott (fiancée, Krystal Day) Plomedahl of Eau Claire; his sister, Shirley (David) Emberts of South Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Hill of Racine and Mary Hill of Taylor, TX; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, William.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday February 12, 2009, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Donald Wisner officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire where American Legion Post #53 will conduct military graveside honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and also one hour prior to services on Thursday. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.
