Richard Francis "Dick" Robelia, 91, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012, at Dove Health Care West with the supportive care of Mayo Clinic Hospice. Richard was born on February 14, 1920, in Eau Galle, WI, to George and Catherine (Shafer) Robelia. He served in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 and was a World War II Veteran serving in the European Theatre and North Africa. On December 30, 1947, Richard married Margaret A. Wisotzke in Eau Claire, WI. Over the years, Richard worked at National Presto Industries, Sacred Heart Hospital, Sacred Heart Parish, and Eau Claire School District from which he retired in 1982. Richard enjoyed gardening and took great pride in keeping his lawn green and "carpet-like". He was a member of the Knights of Columbus John F. Kennedy Council #1257, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen General Assembly - 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Loyal Order of The Moose Lodge #1408, and VFW Post #305 in Eau Claire. Richard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret; children, Catherine (Terry) Bauer of Ashland, Patricia Robelia of Eau Claire, Mary (Greg) Traynor of Eau Claire, Joanne (Danny) Wagner of Hudson, and Amy (Harold) Sabelko of River Falls; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one sister, Helen Byington of Pepin. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Robelia; and 3 sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father William A Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Eau Claire, with Military Rites conducted by VFW Post #305. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, and also one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the church. A public vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. All Knights of Columbus members, family and friends are invited.
