Richard A. "Dick" Sorensen, 63, of Minneapolis, MN died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Hennepin County General Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.\r\nHe was born on August 12, 1946, a son of Harold and Lois (Carlsen) Sorenson. He graduated from Memorial High School in Eau Claire and attended Luther College. Dick then enlisted in the Navy, and served our country in Vietnam.\r\nDick later graduated from the Minnesota School of Business, and worked as an accountant for many years for Archer, Daniels, Midland Company, and later at Cargill Company.\r\nIn his later years, with his health deteriorating, his true enjoyment was in fishing. He spent many hours on his boat on the lake.\r\nDick is survived by his sister, Jane Poquette of Eau Claire; a brother, Steven (Monica) Sorensen of Stillwater, MN; niece, Lia Grant; nephew, Thomas (Marni) Poquette of Menomonie; and niece, Renee (Brian) Menard; and great-nephew, Nolan Menard. He was preceded in death by his parents. \r\nDick was a quiet man who was greatly loved by his family, and he will be missed.\r\nMemorial services will be held at a later date. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.
