Richard R. Turner, 82, of Eau Claire died Saturday, January 7, 2006, at Dove Healthcare. He was born in Eau Claire on June 16, 1923, the son of Richard and Catherine (Hanson) Turner Sr.. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1941. Richard married Elaine Eisenhuth in Pasadena California on July 1, 1945. \r\nHe served in the U.S. Navy from July 17, 1944 until his honorable discharge on January 25, 1946. \r\nRichard returned to Eau Claire where he worked 20 years as a meat checker at Peters Meats, and then was a custodian at District One Technical College until his retirement in 1986.\r\nHe was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nRichard is survived by his wife, Elaine; two daughters, Barbara Emery and her children John (Laurie) Emery and Kim Brown, Dianne Gorell of Elk Mound and her children, Craig (Dorothy) Gorell, Christine (Jeff) Mattson, Carol (Paul) Oldfield, Charles (Lori) Gorell and Catherine Gorell, his son, Mark (Mary Luhman) Turner and their children, Michael (Anna) Turner, Rachel Turner, Dan Turner, Dora Schmit and Skip Turner; eight great-grandchildren, Sean and Alyssa Emery, Gregory and Cody Gorell, Hunter Oldfield, Kala and Josie Gorell, and Ella Turner.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and a great granddaughter, Tyceana Maree Emery.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006, at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery where American Legion Post # 53 will conduct military graveside rites. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\n \r\n
