Robert E. Anderson, 76, of 3805 North Shore Drive, died suddenly Tuesday, December 24, 1996 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born December 23, 1920 in Eau Claire, to Robert and Mabel (Johnson) Anderson. Robert served in the National Guard with the "Red Arrow Division" in Eau Claire and then in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He married Mary Lou Bell on October 11, 1947 in Stillwater, MN. Robert was employed by the Eau Claire School District as a custodian at the time of his retirement. He was a life member of the VFW Post #305 and a member of the Eau Claire Moose Lodge #1408.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Mary Lou; a daughter, Judith A. Bonnin, Mpls, MN; a son, Ronald E. (Mary) Anderson of Modena, WI; six grandchildren, Carol A.(Josef) Lane-Fortier, Mpls, MN, Lori J.(John) Bedene, Valdosta, GA, Karen M. Lane, Kevin G. , Aimee L. and Angela M. Anderson all of Eau Claire; two great grandsons, Francis Wasikowski IV and John Bedene Jr both of Valdosta GA; three sisters, Dorothy Walters, Dolores(Donald) McCrackin, and June (Milien) Lovelien all of Eau Claire; a brother, Orlyn (Ruth) Wik of Green Bay; many nieces and nephews.\r\nRobert was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ellen; two brothers, Fred and Norman.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery, Town of Washington. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Friday (today) at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. The VFW Post # 305 will conduct a service at 6:30 P.M., and Moose Lodge #1408 will conduct Rites at 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home on Friday.\r\nWe bid farewell to a gentle spirit who loved his family and friends. He was a guardian of nature who is now enjoying tending gentler fields.\r\n
