ROBERT "BOB" A. BOYLE, 74, of 1319 5th Ave.,Eau Claire, left this world for his Heavenly Home on Sunday, October 12, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born September 17, 1923 in Eau Claire to Margaret Boyle. He graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School with the Class of 1942. Bob married Florence J. Kleusch at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls on November 15, 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Bob worked as an engineer at Uniroyal, retiring in 1979 after 36 years of service. He was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, watching the Packers and was especially proud to be Irish.Survivors include his wife, Florence; son, Thomas (Debbie) of Minnetonka,MN and his daughter, Jane Boyle of Eau Claire.Bob was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, James and Margaret (Flynn) Boyle.Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church,Eau Claire with Father John W. Steiner officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery,Eau Claire. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home,Eau Claire. A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
