Robert "Bob" J. Breitzman, 84, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn County, on February 29, 1920, the son of John and Florence (Traxler) Breitzman.\r\nBob attended St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School, and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1938. He attended two years at Stout State University. Bob married Arlene "Peggy" R. Fausett on July 26, 1947 at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls.\r\nBob was employed at E. F. Klinger&Assoc. architects and Engineers for 19 years, F. E. Grosvold Mechanical Contractors for 12 years, and Hestikan Engineers for 8 years. He was a mechanical draftsman and registered engineer. As a mechanical engineer, he left a legacy in many Wisconsin cities and towns where he worked on schools and churches including local Memorial and Regis High Schools, DeLong, Sam Davy and St. James the Greater, where he was a charter member. He spent many years volunteering for RSVP, Meals on Wheels, Regis Booster Club, the Pioneers, and the City Election Board. He was also an active member of John F. Kennedy Council #1257 Knights of Columbus.\r\nBob enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Europe and many states; camping and biking on local trails; and canoeing the Brule River. His greatest enjoyment was the time he spent with family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Peggy; three sons, Michael of Monticello, FL, Donald of West Salem, and Robert Colin of Hudson; three daughters, Rebecca Oatman and Beth (Tim) Candell, both of Eau Claire, and Barbara (John) Rewald of Naples, FL; six grandchildren, Shawn (Julianna) Oatman, Julie (Paul) Klein, Brad (Sarah) Candell, Matt Candell, Kate Candell, and Randall (Kathy) Sanders; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Schlough of Menomonie, Mary Dolan of Camas, WA, Alberta (Don) Kortness of Eau Claire, Rita (Joe) Cigan of Stanley, and Ann (Ken) Dudash of Clermont, FL; one sister-in-law, Faith Breitzman of Menomonie; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nBob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Breitzman; and two brothers-in-law, Samuel Schlough and Walter Dolan.\r\nA Mass of Christian burial will be held 12 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Friday at the church. Inurnment will be at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Eau Claire. There will be a 7:30 p.m. Public Prayer Vigil and Knights of Columbus service Thursday evening at the funeral home.\r\nBob's family requests memorials be directed to St. James the Greater Building Fund, 2502 Eleventh Street, Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\n
