Robert L. Daniels, 78, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Oakwood Villa in Altoona.\r\nHe was born on March 18, 1931, in Eau Claire, the son of Byron and Madelyn (Beckwith) Daniels. Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 on the U.S.S. Philippine Sea until his honorable discharge in 1952.\r\nRobert married Vera M. Goodwin on October 31, 1953, at Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire.\r\nRobert worked 15 years at Suburban Chrysler Plymouth in Chippewa Falls, and later worked for Knowlton Auto Parts in Eau Claire until his retirement in 1987. He was a lifetime member of D.A.V. \r\nRobert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vera; four daughters, Wendy Garrett of Altoona, Keva Loy of Fayetteville, NC, Pamela (Dan) Boettcher of Fairchild, WI, and Cheryl (Darrell) Scott of Rice Lake, WI; nine grandchildren, Kelani, Rissa, Joel, Michael, Brian, Emily, Daniel, Katie, and Alex; four great grandchildren, Cameryn, Rigina, Bailey, and Austin; two brothers, John (Sandy) Daniels of Eau Claire, Michael (Diane) Daniels of Coon Rapids, MN; and by a sister, Debbie Daniels of Ceres, CA; and by numerous nieces nephews, and cousins.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters. \r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Rev. Graham N. West officiating. Private burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
