\r\n\r\nRobert "Bob" L. Hanson, 79, of Elk Mound, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Milestone Assisted Living in Eau Claire. He was born in Eau Claire, WI on July 30, 1931, to Harold F. and Laura (Olson) Hanson. He has lived in Elk Mound his entire life.\r\nHe married Joyce Anderson at First Lutheran Church on September 12, 1959. Bob was an active lifelong member of Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, Rural Elk Mound, serving on the council and was involved in many activities of the church. \r\nBob served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict.\r\nHe worked in construction for L.G. Arnold and A.A. Hoehn in Eau Claire until 1976 when he became the Maintenance Supervisor for the Elk Mound Schools retiring in 1996. Bob was a very hard worker and talented in building and maintenance and was always helping others when needed.\r\nBob played dartball with the church league and also was in golf league at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax for several years. He enjoyed biking, cross country skiing and especially traveling with his wife, Joyce. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed many camping trips with his family and also enjoyed going to the grandchildren's many sporting events and programs.\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce; one son, Keith (Kris) Hanson of Elk Mound; three daughters, Julie (Robert) Carr and Lynne Hanson of Eau Claire and Cheryl (Jeff) Keyes of Knapp; 7 grandchildren, Erin and Sam Carr, Jordyn, Delan and Blane Keyes, and Klair and Kailey Hanson; one brother, Vernon (Ruth) Hanson of Elk Mound; sisters-in-law, Carol Anderson of Eagan, MN, and Nancy (John) Christenson of Eau Claire; one brother-in-law, Bill Sowaske of Hales Corners, WI; along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, H. Allen Hanson and one sister, Lorraine Hanson; and sister-in-law, Marlys (Anderson) Sowaske.\r\nFuneral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, Rural Elk Mound, with Rev. Hal A. Schroetter officiating. Friends may call at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior before services at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service.
