Robert "Wes" James Westberg, of Eau Claire, at age 93, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on Friday, June 7th, 2024. Wes was born on June 23rd, 1930, to Carl Eskil and Rose (Czerwonka) Westberg in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from St Patrick Catholic School in Eau Claire. Wes became a member of St Olaf's Church in 1957 and was a deeply religious man, attending mass regularly. Wes served as a Sergeant in the Korean War from 1951-1953 in the United States Army. He worked at Local Roofing and then became employed at Uniroyal and worked there until his retirement. Wes was a hard-working man who passed on his work ethic and values down to his children. Wes met Paula Monarski at a wedding, and they were married on May 11, 1957. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Wes built their home on the north side of Eau Claire, and they remained there until his passing. Paula and Wes have been blessed with seven children. Wes enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage and having coffee with his friends. Wes is survived by his wife, Paula, seven children, Patti (Mike) Lind, Peggy (Todd) Munden, John (Carlene) Westberg, Jean (Richard) Lehman, David (Xiang) Westberg, Chris (Michelle) Westberg, Cathy Cass (Derek Zwart); 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many brother and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends. Wes was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister, Kathleen Anderson, sister, Eleanor Wagner and brother-in-law Robert Wagner and nephew William Wagner. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, from 9-11 a.m. at St Olaf's Church, 3220 Monroe St, Eau Claire, WI 54703. Mass of Christian burial will be held following the visitation at 11a.m. at St Olaf's Church with Father James Kurzynski as celebrant. Interment will be following the luncheon in Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St Olaf's Church in Robert's memory.
