Robert "Bob" E. Jones, 73, of Combined Locks, and formerly of Eau Claire, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, under the care of Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton, WI. \r\nBob was born on May 20, 1938, to Robert F. and Esther M. (Garlie) Jones. He attended Eau Claire Senior High and graduated with the class of 1957. After graduation Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 4 years. On June 7, 1958, he married his childhood sweetheart, Karen Mattison. Bob owned and operated the Modern Book Bindery in Eau Claire for 25 years. He retired from Worzalla Publishing in Stevens Point in 2003. \r\nBob enjoyed spending time playing penny poker and cribbage with his family, and had a love/hate relationship with the game of golf. \r\nBob is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen of Combined Locks; 3 children, Linda (Ron) Thompson of Sun Prairie, WI, Diane (Bob) Clark of Avon, IN, and Steven (Linda) Jones of Appleton, WI; 3 brothers, Roger (Jane) Jones, Larry Jones, Jeff (Jenny) Jones; 5 grandchildren, Kayla and Kendra Thompson, Trevor and Alyssa Clark, and Ryan Jones; and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Dona Kuehn, Barbara Jones, Kathryn Miller; and a brother, Ken Jones.\r\nFuneral Services for Bob will be on Friday, August 5, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, WI with Pastor David J. Irgens officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors, conducted by American Legion Post #53, will be in the Scandinavian Lutheran Cemetery, Eau Claire, WI .
