Obituary

ROBERT C. KOCHENDORFER, 79, OF 2338 11th St., died Saturday, July 26, 1997 at Luther Hospital. He was born October 27, 1917 in Menomonie to Frank and Ricka Kochendorfer. Bob graduated from Menomonie High School in 1935 and then attended Stout University. He served in the U.S. Army Cavalry during World War II and was honorably discharge in 1945. Bob married Ethel C. Krigsvold at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on April 29, 1972. He retired from the maintenance department at Uniroyal after 29 years of service in 1976. \r\nHe was a member of First Lutheran Church, a life member of VFW Post #305 and the Retired Rubber Workers Union.\r\nBob enjoyed fishing and traveling with Ethel, and their family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Ethel; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn O. Krigsvold, Evelyn "Evie" Rhude Krigsvold and Minnie Koger Krigsvold all of Eau Claire, and Sylvia (Gerald) Lee of Elk Mound; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and caring neighbors, including Marie Peterson and her grandson, Brandon Higgin.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frances Kochendorfer.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert E. Esse officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery with VFW Post #305 conducting military graveside rites. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nThe family suggest memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church.
