Robert W. Olson, 80, of Holcomb and Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Heritage Assisted Living in Eau Claire. Bob was born on October 20, 1931, in Thorp to Arthur and Susie (Evenson) Olson. On December 29, 1951, Bob married Marjorie Steubing at Immaculate Conception Church in Eau Claire. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was discharged in 1955. Bob worked at the Thorp Bank as Executive Vice President for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Trap Shooting Club for 17 years, St. Bernard's Church, President of both the Business Association and Lions Club, all in Thorp. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, traveling, downhill and water skiing. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie; daughter, Joy Olson; son, Jeffrey Olson; brother, Gerald (Dorothy) Olson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church, 1712 Highland Ave. in Eau Claire, with Father Eugene A. Klink officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass Monday at the church. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home is serving his family.
