ROBERT E. "BOB" PHILLIPS, 59, of 627 Putnam Dr., died Saturday, July 18, 1998 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born December 31, 1938 in Eau Claire to Earl and Grace (Klink) Phillips. Bob graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the Class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1962. \r\nBob married Patricia E. Lawrence in Decorah,IA on April 16, 1973. \r\nHe was a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service in Eau Claire until his medical retirement in 1972. Bob worked for the Eau Claire Board of Education as a crossing guard at Arlington and Putnam Heights elementary schools for the past 16 years.\r\nHe was a member of Putnam Heights Church of Christ-Christian and the D.A.V. Chapter #10.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Patricia; five sons, B.J. Potter of Hudson, Allan (Becky) Potter of El Cajon,CA, Scott (Karen) Phillips of Farmington,MN, Kevin (Connie) Potter of Taylor,MI, and Mark (Mary) Potter of Hudson; three daughters, Kris (Steve) Stefano of St. Paul,MN, Debra Phillips of Roseville,MN, and Kona (Mark) Trappe of McGregor.IA; thirteen grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Galde and Barbara (John) Barnum both of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews and friends.\r\nBob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Maurice Galde.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Putnam Heights Church of Christ-Christian with Minister Billy McKnight officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
