Robert "Bob" T. Rood, 63, 6632 Carol St., died Thursday, September 4, 1997 at M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home.\r\nHe was born July 29, 1934 to Thomas and Eunice (Coss) Rood in Eau Claire. Bob graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on October 11, 1955. On December 30, 1971, he married Mary Kay Ambers in Stillwater, MN. Bob was a sheet-steel mechanic at Johnson Plastics Machinery in Chippewa Falls from 1972 to1982, when he retired due to ill health. He then attended UWEC, where he received his BA Degree in English in 1985.\r\nBob was a member of the Muzzle Loading Club, American Rifle Association, and the Model Airplane Flyers Club. He enjoyed fly-fishing, woodworking and building radio control airplanes.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Teri of Rosemount, MN; a son, Nathan of Eau Claire; two brothers , Dick (Myrna) Rood of Janesville and Jim (Phyllis) Rood of Manona,; two sisters, Joanne (Ross) Marion of Chippewa Falls and Joyce (Joe) Hoover of Altoona; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home, with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.\r\nFriends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service there on Monday.
