Obituary

Robert "Red" C. Sullivan, 62, of Indianapolis, IN, and formerly of Eau Claire, died unexpectedly at his home on March 7, 2007.\r\nHe was born December 15, 1944 in Eau Claire, the son of John M. and Mary J. (Mohr) Sullivan. He was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on January 7, 1945. \r\nRed attended St. James Grade School and some high school in Eau Claire.\r\nHe served in the United States Marines from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1974.\r\nRed married Barbara Ann Olson on November 26, 1978. They later divorced in 1980.\r\nHe liked to sell at flea markets. Over the years he had many jobs. Red's last job was at the V.A. Hospital in Indianapolis until his health no longer allowed for him to work.\r\nRed's favorite hobbies were gambling and watching sports.\r\nRed is survived by his two brothers, James "Jim" Sullivan of Eau Claire, Thomas (Marilyn) Sullivan of Winter, WI; a sister, Mary Jo (Ken) Smith of Sturervant, WI; a sister-in-law, Loretta Sullivan of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews; and by his special friend, Aferocina Cox of Indianapolis, IN.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, John Michael Jr.\r\nRed had many friends over the years in Eau Claire and Indianapolis. A special thank you goes out to Aferocina Cox, the V.A. Hospital, his AA friends that kept him sober during his last years, and to the in home care nurse that cared for Bob.\r\nA private gathering of family and friends will be held later in the spring to remember Red's life. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.\r\nLenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral&Cremation Services of Eau Claire is serving the family.\r\n
