Robert R. Wrigglesworth, 89, of Eau Claire died Friday, September 30, 2005, at Syverson Lutheran Home after a two week stay. He was born in Eau Claire on July 16, 1916, the son of G. Bert and Marguerite (Chichester) Wrigglesworth. \r\nRobert graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1934. He was sports editor of the school paper, and also senior class president and prom king. \r\nHe entered the U.S. Army on November 25, 1941, and served 35 months in Chungking, China in charge of the army post office there. He was honorable discharged on September 7, 1945. \r\nRobert married Betty I. Johnson in St. Paul, MN on January 31, 1947.\r\nRobert was a rural mail carrier with the Eau Claire Post Office until his retirement in 1974. He also worked as a bartender. He was an avid Badger fan as well as a Green Bay Packer, Chicago Cub and New York Yankee fan.\r\nRobert was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist church, joining the Lutheran church after marriage. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for fifty years and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church since 2004. \r\nSurvivors include his wife, Betty of 58 years; two daughters, Jane (Roger) Jones of Appleton and Mary (Jim ) Kern of Eau Claire; son, Thomas, of Eau Claire; four dear grandchildren, Mark (Soni) Jones of California, Katrina (Bill) Hake of Minneapolis, Robert Kern of Eau Claire and Angela (Kevin) Mitala of Appleton; three special great - grandchildren, Katelyn, Noah and Makayla Mitala of Appleton; four sisters in law, Millie Kappus of Arizona, Ann Hancock of Marshfield, Evie Rogers of Stevens Point and Lois Fjelsted of Montana; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nRobert was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Tom Wrigglesworth; sisters- in- law and brothers- in- law.\r\nPrivate family memorial services were held today Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary F.
