Roger C. Callies, 84, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire, with his family by his side. Roger was born April 14, 1934, in Minot, ND to George and Dagne (Johnson) Callies. He grew up in Bruce, Wisconsin where he excelled in sports and became an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He married Catherine Webb on October 30, 1957. They lived together in Germany where he served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, they moved to Ladysmith, WI, where he worked for the Soo Line Railroad. In 1963, they moved to Eau Claire, WI, where he retired from Presto Industries. Besides loving "his" Green Bay Packers, Roger loved looking at the new cars when they arrived every September, college football, college basketball and the NBA. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. Roger is survived by his proud daughters, Cindy Callies of Cincinnati, OH and Brenda Callies (Randy) of Bloomington, MN; five grandchildren, Michael of Cincinnati, OH, Jill of Columbus, OH, Shannon (Bernardo) of Eden Prairie, MN, Chelsey and Max of Bloomington, MN; sister, Betty, of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Jack (Emma) of Apache Junction, AZ; sister-in-law, Carol; brother-in-law, Wally; and several nieces and nephews. He lost his beautiful and loving wife Catherine in 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna; and brothers, Dennis, Gerald, David and Don. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2019 at the Callies reunion held in Holcombe, WI.
