Obituary

ROGER R. FALKNER, 34, of 2407 Preston Road died Friday, October 30, 1998 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born Nov. 13, 1963 in Eau Claire to Raymond and Darlene (Bauer) Falkner. Roger graduated from Memorial High School in 1982 and attended Chippewa Valley Technical College where he received his degree in diesel mechanics. He was a heavy equipment operator for McCabe Construction. He previously had worked as a diesel mechanic for Indianhead International, River State, and American Materials.\r\nRoger was lifetime member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church and a member of the Westgate Sportsman's Club where he enjoyed trap shooting competition. He loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed every opportunity to be out and involved in those activities.\r\nSurvivors include his parents, his two brothers and two sisters, Marvin (Jackie) of Colfax, Diane (Paul) Vezner of Black River Falls, William (Brenda) of Eau Claire and Linda (Raymond) Stewart of Glenburnie, MD; 15 nieces and nephews; and his cocker spaniel, Sam. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alphonse and Eunice Bauer and Joseph and Emma Falkner.\r\nRoger was always there to help his family and friends.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father John A. Schultz officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home where there will be a 7 p.m. Prayer Vigil Service.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to St. James the Greater Catholic Church.
