Roger E. Forster, 75, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1933, in Eau Claire to Ernest and Nellie (Miller) Forster.\r\nRoger served in the U.S Army from July 22, 1950, until his honorable discharge in July 22, 1953. \r\nRoger married Janet M. Johnson on July 2, 1955, in Eau Claire.\r\nHe was employed at Roberts Wholesale, Presto Industries as a machine operator for 13 years, Delicious Food Products, and retired from Cliff Industries in 1995. \r\nHe was an avid Packer fan, and was know as the "Grill Master" for the many meals prepared for family and friends.\r\nRoger was a loving, protective family man, who insured that the Forster clan gathered as often as possible. He had a delightful sense of humor that was intact up to his very last moments. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by all.\r\nSurvivors include his wife, Janet; three children, Roger W. Forster, Rhonda R. Schraut, both of Eau Claire, Randall S. (Lisa) Forster of Quitman, AR; six grandchildren, Steven Forster, Paul A. (Stephanie) Forster, Adam and Trista Barnhardt, Ashley Flick and Ashley (Derrick) Hicks; two great grandchildren, Kahlil Wickware and Blake Hicks; and his brother, Wayne (Margie) Forster of Eau Claire.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney Blake Forster; granddaughter, Rebecca Forster; and his sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Diedrich.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor David Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire where American Legion Post # 53 will conduct military graveside honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
