Roger C. Skoug, 86, of Altoona, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Oakwood Villa Nursing&Rehabilitation in Altoona. He was born in Strum, WI, on August 10, 1923, a son of Oscar and Hilda (Semingson) Skoug.\r\nHe graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1942.\r\nRoger married Evelyn F. Wiekert at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on May 18, 1974.\r\nHe worked 42 years at Uniroyal until his retirement in 1987. \r\nRoger was an active member of First Lutheran Church, and was a volunteer for many years at the Paul Bunyan Camp in Eau Claire, and for the Boy Scouts.\r\nRoger was kind and generous always ready to help others. \r\nRoger is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Rod and Jerry Skoug both of Eau Claire, and Rick (Barb) Vehlow of Milwaukee; three daughters, Sheryl (Bob) Kellen of Stockton, CA, Margaret (Mike) Stalka of Winona, MN, Joyce (Dave) Running of Eau Claire; five grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers, Raymond Skoug of Eau Claire, Eugene (Dorothy) Skoug of Chippewa Falls, and Vern (Lois) Skoug of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, LaVerne Crapser of Mondovi; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marcella (Orville) Peterson and Muriel Crapser. \r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
