Roland "Rollie" H. Vierbicher, 74, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Luther Hospital.\r\nHe was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on September 21, 1933, the son of Roland A. and Coral (Fritz) Vierbicher. He was raised in Clintonville graduating from High School in 1951. Rollie attended UW-Eau Claire and played for the Blugolds Football team graduating in 1955.\r\nHe entered the U.S. Army in 1955, and served in Japan until his honorable discharge in 1957.\r\nRollie married Donna L. (Tofting) Howard on December 26, 1965, at Christ Church Cathedral in Eau Claire.\r\nHe was employed by Beneficial Financial and later worked as a scheduler for Uniroyal until the plants closure. \r\nRollie was an avid fan of the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Blugolds, and whatever activities his children and grandchildren took part in. He had a genuine interest in everyone he ever met. Rollie will be remembered as a history buff and for the wonderful tomatoes he raised.\r\nRollie is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Charles (Stephanie) Vierbicher of Eau Claire; stepchildren, Gordon Howard, of Eau Claire and Laura Rush of Altoona; eight grandchildren, Dana, Danielle, Andrew and Nicole Vierbicher, Ben and Megan Howard, and Emily and Claire Rush; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Schnorr of Eau Claire and Louise (Ray) Richardson of Camp Verde, AZ; and nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, The Rev. Dan Schnorr. \r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Christ Church Cathedral, Eau Claire with The Very Rev'd Robert L. Rademaker officiating. Entombment will be in Bundy Hall in Menomonie. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at church. \r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Chippewa Valley Museum, 1204 Carson Park Dr., Eau Claire, WI 54703, or to the donor's choice.\r\nHis family would like to extend their thanks to the Critical Care Unit and Dialysis Center teams at Luther Hospital for their exceptional care.\r\n
