Rolland "Rollie" Nesbit, 76, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Luther Hospital from injuries resulting from a pedestrian / automobile accident. He was born on July 24, 1930, in Edgerton, Wisconsin, the son of William and Ruby (Anderson) Nesbit.\r\nHe entered the U.S. Air Force on December 5, 1950, during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged on September 4, 1954. Rollie was a Golden Gloves boxer, was on the Air Force boxing team, and served as captain on the UW-Madison boxing team.\r\nRollie married Joan M. Moldenhauer on July 28, 1954, in Evansville, WI.\r\nHe graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from UW-Madison in 1958. Rollie worked 31 years as a biologist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources until retiring in 1989. He then continued working as a fitness instructor at the Eau Claire Athletic Club.\r\nHe was very active in the First Congregational Church of Christ where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and usher. He was a member of Eau Claire Lodge #112 F&AM, a 32nd degree mason, member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Eau Claire, and a member of the Valley Gospel Choir\r\nHe loved the outdoors, participating in activities with his family and friends.\r\nRollie is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Stacey (Jon) Moen of Fond Du Lac; three sons, Steve (Pam) Nesbit of Fall Creek, Stuart (Kathy) Nesbit of Chippewa Falls, and Stanton (Joni) Nesbit of Chippewa Falls; nine grandchildren, Scott (Ashley) Nesbit, Bill Nesbit, Jennifer (Tim) Schneider, Christopher, Hannah, and Joseph Moen, Philip, Lucas, and Jacob Nesbit; his twin brothers, Dean (June) Nesbit of Albion and Gean Nesbit of Edgerton; a brother-in-law, Neil (Donna) Moldenhauer; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Pat Nesbit.\r\nRollie was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Eau Claire with the Rev. Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini officiating. Burial will be in the First Congregational Church Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. There will be a 6 p.m Masonic Service Tuesday evening at the funeral home.\r\n
