Romona Rita Miller, 90, of Eau Claire died Friday, November 28, 2008, at Dove Healthcare. She was born in Loyal, Wisconsin on July 13, 1918, a daughter of George and Agnes (Woznicki) Bell.\r\nShe graduated from Eau Claire Sr. High School with the class of 1936, and attended Eau Claire Business College. \r\nRomona married Joseph V. Miller on December 27, 1945, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Eau Claire.\r\nRomona worked in the office at Gillette Tire Company, then as a sales lady in the ready to wear department at J.C. Penny's. She later worked in the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram circulation department and she retired in 1974 from the office at Goulds.\r\nShe was a lifetime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, an active member of the Ladies Guild, and a longtime member of the church choir. She often volunteered at school and church while her children were growing up.\r\nShe loved and was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, crocheting, and family gatherings.\r\nRomona is survived by her two sons, Joseph (Barbara) Miller Jr. of Oakdale, MN, and DeWayne (Elaine) Miller of Elk Mound; two daughters, Marlene (Drew) Johnson, Eau Claire, and Rita (Greg) Pire of Burnsville, MN; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph, in 1992; three brothers, Daniel "Kenny" Bell, James J. Bell Sr., and infant Jerome Bell; and her sister, Ruth Sera.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. Public Prayer Service Monday at the funeral home.\r\n
