Ronald Jay Bahr, "R. Bahr", 58, of Eleva, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. R. Bahr was born February 18, 1953 in Eau Claire, a son of Marvin and Violet (Paap) Bahr. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1971. Ron worked over 20 years at Sign Art Company as a fabricator and welder. He enjoyed going to work and the challenges it brought him daily. He spent many hours after work in his "shop" fabricating, fixing just about anything and relaxing with his friends. R. loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle "Sweetheart" with his wife, family and friends. Over the years during the many rides, is where he met numerous friends. No matter where Ronnie stopped, he was known by many. In Ronnie's free time he enjoyed going up to the cabin with family and friends on Chain Lake. After being a bachelor for 55 years, Ron married the love of his life, Darcy McDonald, on October 31, 2008, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; his friend, lover, companion and caregiver. Ron is survived by his wife, Darcy; two brothers, Bob (Kate) Bahr of Great Falls, MT, and Dick (Monica) Bahr of Eleva; four nephews, Kent (Dottie) Bahr, Karl (Kim) Bahr, John Miller, Brian (Laura) Bahr; grandnephews; grandnieces; cousins; mother-in-law, Donna Schroeder; two brother-in-laws, Mike (Wendy) McDonald, Kevin (Barb) McDonald; one sister-in-law, Sheri (Tom) Thompson; two step-children, Wade and Jennilee McDonald; and many, many friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and niece, Lisa Bahr. Funeral services for R. Bahr will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire with Pastor Kermit Solem officiating. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington.
