Obituary

Ronald "Ron" R. Curry Jr., age 80, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He peacefully left his earthly body accompanied by angels while being held by his wife and surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born in Eau Claire, WI, on February 2, 1937, to the late Ronald Sr. and Shirley (Tracy) Curry. He grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1955. He met and married the love of his life, Marjorie C. Quagon, in 1971. At the time, she reigned as Wisconsin Indianhead Princess. Ron truly was multitalented, having worked for Peters Meats, Uniroyal Tire Company, and, along with his wife, was the co-owner/accountant of Holmens Family Haircare Salon in downtown Eau Claire and Isle of Beauty Salon in downtown Chippewa Falls. Later, he finished his versatile career with the Eau Claire Public School System. Known as "The Great White Hunter" to many, Ron was an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished archer who won numerous awards, trophies, and was a valued member of local archery clubs. He loved to fish, hunt, and enjoyed every aspect of the great outdoors with his devoted wife by his side. Together they enjoyed many adventures and made many beautiful memories with their family. Ron was a devoted husband and father who loved his wife and children more than life itself. They were his life. He cherished, shared, and took great pride in each of their many accomplishments. Ron is survived by his wife, Marjorie Curry; three daughters, Kimberly (Dale) Connors-Johnson, Kelly (Dean) Watt, Dawn Kraus; two sons, Kevin (Marghan) Curry, Jason (Mandy) Heathcote-Curry; grandchildren, Shannon (Matt), Amanda, Peter, Bhrittney, Bryson, Kelly (Greg), Shane, Madison, Thea, Tristan, Rory, Ari; and 4 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his two loving sisters, whom he remained very close to, Terri Gilbert and Julie Johnson and their families; and numerous cousins and relatives. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; loving grandparents; and son-in-law, Joseph Connors. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and other staff at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital, 5th floor, for their excellent care and compassion. We also would like to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oak Leaf Clinic and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, for their stellar care. Each and every one of you will always hold a special place in our hearts. The family would like to request no perfume be worn to the services due to severe allergies. In lieu of flowers, a living plant is requested in honor of Earth Day.
