Obituary

Rosalyn V. McCabe, 92, formerly of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation South in the town of Eagle Point, Chippewa County. She was born on August 29, 1908 in Fall Creek, Wisconsin to Julius and Rose (Clausius) Jacobs.\r\nRosalyn attended Eau Claire Senior High School graduating in 1926. She earned her RN degree at St. Mary's Mayo Hospital, in Rochester, MN, graduating in 1929. She completed her under-graduate study at New York University. Rosalyn received a degree in Radiology at Cornell University, New York Hospital.\r\nShe married Craig McCabe in 1937 and after his death pursued her profession in Occupational Health Nursing. She retired in 1973 from Arlington County Court House as Nurse Manager of the health unit there. She did volunteer work at Georgetown University Hospital and Annunciation Church Rectory. Rosalyn was a member of Annunciation Church, Ladies Sodality and Leisure Club. She also was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, Villa Cartona, Maryland and a member of the Catholic League. After retiring she resided at Saint Therese Retirement Residence in New Hope, Minnesota. Rosalyn returned to Eau Claire in January of last year.\r\nRosalyn did extensive traveling throughout the world and enjoyed her passion for oil painting.\r\nShe is survived by many nieces and nephews including Jim and Patty Roach, John Roach, Art Roach and Mary O'Brien all of Eau Claire.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Craig; a brother, Lawrence Jacobs and sisters, Adeline Ballou, Sister Pius (OSF), Gladys Jacobs, Rosella and Mildred Roach, Marie Jacobs and Lois Noel.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Eugene Klink officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Friends and relative may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the Church.
