Obituary

Roselia "Rose" M. Bennett, 68, of Eau Claire died Saturday, August 16, 2003 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cady Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin on November 8, 1934, the daughter of Marcus and Alice (Koehler) Tio. Rose married John E. Bennett on October 22, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was a sales clerk for many years working for Webster Candy Company, Cigan Variety Vending, Prange Company and Prangeway until retiring December 15, 1995.\r\nRose was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who always put the needs of her children and grandchildren first. She had a wide variety of interests including traveling, wood working, cross-stitching, stamping, photography, camping, cross-country skiing, sledding, fishing and golfing. She was a great cook, and will always be remembered for her "charcoaled chicken."\r\nSurvivors include, her husband, John; two daughters, Julie (Michael) Pire of Eau Claire and Ann (Lonnie) Cockfield of Peoria, AZ; three grandchildren, Zachary&Ryan Pire of Eau Claire, and Lauryn Cockfield of Peoria, AZ; three brothers, Clarence (Alice) Tio of Eau Claire, Edmund Tio of St. Paul, MN, and Charles (Carol) Tio of Necedah, WI; and several nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents.\r\nRose's family would like to extend a special thank-you to the 5th floor staff at Sacred Heart Hospital, Dr. Delmastro and his staff, and to St. Joseph's Homecare/Hospice for their kindness and compassion during her illness.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m.Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Eugene A. Klink officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at church. A public prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
