Rosemary B. Greene, 80, of Eau Claire died peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She had been in declining health for the past several years. Rosemary, the daughter of Hubert and Rose (Dimmers) Kloeckner, was born November 2, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota.\r\nHer family moved to a farm near Emerald, WI when she was a child. After Rosemary graduated from Glenwood City High School, she found work in Stillwater, MN at the shoe factory. She later joined the staff at Maple Island Creamery in Stillwater, where she met her soon to be husband Ralph. \r\nRosemary and Ralph were married in 1949 at St. Francis Church in Shafer, MN. During the next 60 years together, the couple had seven children, four girls and three boys.\r\nRosemary was a very talented and creative person, and loved to do her crafts -- crocheting, embroidering, quilting, painting, card making, and working with seashells. Many of the shells she used for her art were picked up by her on the beaches of South Padre Island during trips to southern Texas. Rosemary enjoying sharing her passion for crafting by teaching others how to craft, and by sharing the fruits of her crafts with others. \r\nWhile raising her seven children, Rosemary always found the time to share her talents with others, including Birthright, assisting the nuns at St. Olaf's School, sewing girls' basketball uniforms, providing transportation, and many other needs as they arose. She was famous for the wonderful baked goods that the entire neighborhood could smell from a block away.\r\nRosemary loved the peace and quiet of the cabin in northern Wisconsin -- fishing, gardening, watching, and feeding the wildlife. She especially liked being on the lake as the sun set when the fishing got really good.\r\nRosemary is survived by her husband, Ralph; six children, Louise Sanders of Eau Claire, Thomas Greene of Mayville, Audrey Washburn, John Greene, Susan Greene and Patricia (Jim) Roach all of Eau Claire; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Cece Cody of New Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; a son Ronald; son-in-law, Robert Washburn; daughter-in-law, Katherine Greene; great-grandson, Nathan Ries; sister Tillie Paulson; and two brothers, Budd and John Kloeckner.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010, at St. Olaf Catholic Church with Father Brian Konopa officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. Public Prayer service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
